1. What sets Introspective Fitness apart from the competition?
Please read our company vision statement to see how we distance ourselves from the competition. If you still have questions regarding our training philosophies, please contact us at info@introspectivefitness.com.

2. Are results "guaranteed"? If so, how?
Even though we promise to do our best to help you achieve and maintain your fitness goals, we cannot do it alone. We hold you responsible for your end of the deal, which is to show up on time for your sessions, work hard and eat right. We see fitness training as truly a team effort.

3. Why can't I be trained in any gym in the area?
Most gyms in the DC Metro area do not allow for independent trainers/outside companies to train in their gyms. This is for reasons relating to competition as well as liability. The problem with hiring a trainer at most gyms is that they are usually brand new to the industry. Most gyms do NOT require their trainers to be certified. All of our trainers are certified by a nationally accredited body. We respect that most gyms do not allow "freelance" training to occur on the premises. Please don't even ask us to do that.

4. Are your trainers insured?
Yes! Each trainer is fully insured (professional liability insurance) for fitness training at any location which is convenient to you. Our insurance is provided through a Lloyd's of London broker, a premiere insurance underwriter.

5. What does it mean to be a "certified trainer?"
A certified fitness trainer (CFT) is a person who has received certification from a nationally accredited body, such as the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) or the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). By choosing a certified fitness trainer, you can be ensured that you have chosen an individual who is required to show a strong proficiency in the field of fitness training (they are also required to have a valid CPR certification), as well as being required to attain continuing education units to keep their certification valid. Feel free to ask our trainers to provide a copy of their certification. You should always be sure of whom you are working with; beware the individual who looks big and muscular but lacks the knowledge and credentials needed to train your properly.

6. Why do some companies charge more or less for fitness training than others?
You've heard of the expression, "you get what you pay for." We provide elite fitness training services for clients of all abilities. We also only train clients whom have unique circumstances and therefore we are not the best option for the "typical" healthy client who only wants to lose a few pounds. Since all of our trainers are REQUIRED to have insurance, certifications and substantial experience, we charge what we do so you can receive the level of training you deserve. We stand behind our services, and our clients always receive more than their money's worth.

7. Do I have to keep purchasing sessions in order to "maintain" my results?
The answer to this question can truly only be answered by our clients. We strive to not only push you to your limits, but also educate you in how to workout on your own with intensity and passion. We try not to simply motivate you during your sessions; we want you to learn how to motivate yourself! If you keep a sensible diet and continue to push yourself once you begin to workout on your own, then we will be the first to applaud your continued successes. If you find that you need the extra help in either maintaining your results or attaining new ones, we welcome the opportunity to form a long-term relationship that continues to benefit everyone involved.

8. What if I want to train with a partner?
We won't flat out tell you that we won't allow you to train with a partner, but we discourage it (unless it's within a sports conditioning setting). The reason for this is that we realize that the quality of our services diminishes when we have two people to pay attention to during a session. We pride ourselves on paying strict attention to a client's form during each and every exercise performed, so that each repetition is completed with maximum efficiency. Since no two people display that same "bad habits" when exercising, we will be unable to pay close enough attention to every movement when training more than one person at a time. Also, no two clients typically have the same needs/abilities when it comes to physical fitness. If after reading this you still want to train with a partner, please email us at info@introspectivefitness.com to discuss the options available to you.

9. What is a PSB (posture, strength & balance) assessment? Why do I need one?
Our individual assessment sessions are designed to identify the muscular and postural imbalances that one's body exhibits. Identifying and correcting these imbalances will allow any client to safely and intensely work towards maximizing their fitness potential. By completing exercises which typically cause abnormal movements in one's kinetic chain, we will point out your flexibility and strengthening needs. A brief nutritional assessment will also be given. These assessments can be given almost anywhere, as no equipment is needed.

10. How do your online fitness training (O.F.T.) packages differ from in-person training? Which is better?
O.F.T. is an emerging concept that is available to people who cannot necessarily afford quality in-person fitness training. The same trainers that work with our clients locally in the DC Metro region are the same ones who develop and monitor client's activities via the internet. We will honestly admit that online personal training has some drawbacks, but we have developed extensive quality controls to ensure that we provide the best online training programs available today. Please visit the Online Programs section of our website to read more about what this type of training entails.

11. Why are your rates as much as they are for in-person training?
Most fitness trainers charge anywhere from $65 on up in the DC metropolitan region. For your money, you are simply getting a workout predicated upon basic goals which you set out. Not much is done as far correcting your body's natural (either due to genetics/poor posture, injuries or illnesses) imbalances, which is truly needed in order for one to feel and look their best. Through education, experience and much "trial and error" in the gym, our corrective exercise specialists will be able to effectively develop a workout regimen that will change the way you look at personal fitness training. Quite simply, you haven't had truly effective training until you train with us.
Based on this unique training approach, and the fact that we only higher the best trainers available, we charge what we do in order to provide you with a premium service that is second to none. Other training companies tend to charge their customers different per-session costs based on the number of sessions bought. It makes us wonder why they are inherently stating that their services are worth less and less depending on the entire dollar amount you fork over. Shouldn't you want to receive the same amount of attention and expertise whether or not you can only afford 10 versus 100 sessions? We think so.
Our clients come to us because they expect a lot, and we are building a business around real world results and customer referrals. Our clients come to work hard, so that they can change their lives for the better each and everyday. After-all, we prefer clients who are as serious about bettering their lives as we are.

12. Are there expiration dates for the fitness training packages?
Depending on the size of a package you purchase (we provide packages from 6 sessions all the way up to 100 sessions), there may be an expiration date. This is to ensure that our clients are committed to using their sessions in a timely manner. Nothing is worse than when a client pays a large amount of money up front and then becomes too lazy to finish out their sessions. We aren't in business to simply take people's hard earned savings. Exceptions are allowed for valid medical excuses, provided acceptable proof from a medical professional is submitted.

13. What does a "session" consist of?
A session consists of a one-hour period in which one-on-one training is provided. Clients are expected to warm-up (at least 5 minutes of cardio/stretch) prior to sessions (with the first session being an exception). Clients are expected to show up early and be motivated for a good workout.
